Chase, I feel your pain. I've been playing guitar for more than fifty years now, and love playing with other musicians almost more than sex, but when it comes to composing my own songs? There is just so much out there that is so good, and so much that isn't -- lots of derivative elevator music -- that if I can't say something new and honest -- better than what's already being performed, I say, why bother. On the other hand, you're a Tejano, right? Great songwriters grown on the Spanish Oaks down your way, don't they?
