• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

We now allow political discussion, but strongly suggest it takes place in the Steam Room, which is a private sub-forum within Café Life. It’s only accessible to Full Members.

I just had another one today too. Very short and to the point so I’m guessing they really didn’t like it!!
It'll be just a form rejection. It's the most common since they're so busy. Keep going. Remember each agent gets 300-500 submissions a month and probably only takes on 5 or 6 a year. Even brilliant work finds it tough to get in.

I’ve got a story called ‘My Sister’s Boyfriends’. I was told I didn’t establish the narrator’s goals clearly and said too much about other people - almost as if the story were about his sister and her friends, apparently.
