• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

A story of hope - which makes a great change from the usual doom and gloom tales of woe we hear about submitting to agents and publishers. Anna McKerrow's book is set in Cornwall too - there's hope for me yet...

That's a really good synopsis, concise but informative. I like the brief background to set the scene before talking about the main character. She actually gets a bunch of characters and problems in those three paragraphs without it being too much to take in! That's impressive. How do you get a literature scout to look at your work? Would that have helped her to get noticed by the agent? Also, I've read that you shouldn't put details about yourself that aren't relevant, yet Anna McKerrow talks about being a Twin Peaks fan. Gosh, sometimes I feel like there's an exact science to this but most of the time I just feel like it's right person, right time, right book.
