Last weekend I braved Auckland's public transport system to spend the day surrounded by fellow New Zealand writers. I was only there for half the conference, but I learned a lot (and got to catch up with fellow Litopian @Robinne Weiss too!). Rather than keep these learnings to myself, here are some of the key takeaways from the day—many of which are relevant to writers outside of Oceania.

Huia is a good place to start I think, they do digital as well as print (so no heinous shipping costs). If you want something more Pasifika, try Lani Wendt Young - her books are on Amazon. And if they are even half as good as how she speaks, you're in for a treat. I'm planning to read a few once I've culled my TBR pile a bit more!
