• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

LiNoWriMo Litopia Novel Writing Month (LiMoWriMo)

The Colony's Own NaNoWriMo!
After a disappointing day, I am now on a roll. Spent most of he day, and a 2am to 4am stint, to complete 4K. Reread this morning and the early morning writing is actually fine. I have done a.m. scribbling before, but it has usually been somewhat lacking ... actually that may have been due to the wine input the previous evening. Whether, I will reach goal, who knows, but I am a much easier section, so who knows. I agree with Matt, a big thank you to Nicky!

Well, it's the 30th and I got to 16k. My goal was 20k but I'm very pleased with what I've achieved. Huge thanks to @Nikky Lee for setting this up and for being a great example to us all with her industrious output!

Well done everyone! Whatever your word count, every sentence written is a step in the right direction and a testament to your dedication, skill and imagination :) I'm very proud of us all!!!

Okay, scrapping in here (I started a day late, so I'm finishing a day late—yep, that's an excuse and I'm 100% sticking to it!).

Final totals for the month:
WIP: 49k
Monthly total: 30.1k

Thank you to everyone who joined in! Loved seeing you all make progress in one way or another!

If you would like a digital certificate, PM me and I'll send you through one :)

Well, I made to 34.956 words rewritten, including approximately 3.000 words added. Not too shabby. I think I set my original goal too high considering how busy school tends to be this time of year. But no matter... I'm further along, and I intend to keep going at roughly the same pace through December. Thanks all - it was nice knowing others were doing the same. :)

Congrats all you first drafters! So many words! I resubmitted Feckless, to two contests. One under Reckoning with a change of the name for a market survey. Submitted to a publisher. Rewrote a story for another contest and got a good start on my extended ending for Feck/Reckless. So I'm not disappointed with my month. Thanks again to Nikki for organising. Please let me know if the Liteditmo month goes forward. I think it would be invaluable.

Now I have to go make a gallon of gravy with ONE turkey neck and two wingtips. Where do the giblets go in Anglo Saxon country? This bird was using those innards not a week ago so....

Big congratulations to those who did this and saw it through to the end of the month (unlike some... err... that would be me then).

Quite an achievement and a very special well done to Nikky for organising the event.

Spent last week on a short holiday in Madeira, and slipped a little. Well, it was a bit of a battle - tapping away in an hotel room looking out at a perfect blue sky, or, trying to ,tap away in the warm gentle sunshine. The sunshine may just have won that one... But now back in a windy, rain drenched Kent, the words have regained their rightful place.
