• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

    • Don't give offence
    • Don't take offence

We now allow political discussion, but strongly suggest it takes place in the Steam Room, which is a private sub-forum within Café Life. It’s only accessible to Full Members.

Harper, not open until 2nd November closes 6th, but novels limited to 90,000 words. Mine are all 97-100,000 words so not sure they'll accept but worth a try.
Gollancz 4th January to 22nd January. Physical (snail mail) copies only.
Angry Robot open for December and January. 70 - 150,000 words. ;)

One last reminder: the last of these open, the Angry Robot one, closes in a few days.

These are really neat to have together on the forum. Anyone have any more coming up to share? Do you randomly stumble across them, or find them announced somewhere else? I think this sort of thread is a fantastic resource for the community to have available. :)

Looking at this, I did submit to Harper Collins Australia ;-)
