• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

Are the Kiwi members of the Colony indulging in Formal Fridays?

New Zealand scrubs up for #formalfridays despite coronavirus lockdown

Pictures please!
I'm afraid not here. We have talked about it, but reality is none of us owns much (any?) formal clothing, and all of the nice clothes we have are packed away for the duration of our stay in the shed. Hubby is putting on normal work clothes before he goes to the 'office' on weekdays, though. Because I make all my own clothes, I'm loathe to wear the nice things when I don't need to, lest I wear them out too quickly. The worst thing is to suddenly realise you don't have appropriate clothes for an occasion and have only 24 hours to make something (well, okay, it's not the worst thing, but ...).
