• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

We now allow political discussion, but strongly suggest it takes place in the Steam Room, which is a private sub-forum within Café Life. It’s only accessible to Full Members.

A different kind of same old thing...

Found a request from Milkweed for Kickstarter support for a new bookshop they hope to open:
Milkweed Books: Because Bookshelves Should Never Be Boring

Sounds like a great idea. Wish we had some similar initiatives in the UK (perhaps we do and I'm not aware?). A shop which says, 'we don't compete with Waterstones etc -- we give readers physical access to a range of new, high-quality titles that you just won't see in the major bookshops, because the small presses that publish them don't have the ££ to push their titles through those outlets.' One day?
