• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

Not exactly writing related, and a decade old, but I recently stumbled across this TED talk by Taika Waititi, and it spoke to me. Amidst the seemingly rambling delivery (which is clearly beautifully considered and deliberate), he delivers some great thoughts on creativity, personal expression, the meaning of life, and the role of failure in creativity. Like his films, this left me feeling lots of emotions and wondering what the hell I just watched.

Yes. It's a great film. I just finally watched Boy last weekend. Both that and Jojo Rabbit had me laughing and crying and trying to tease out why. He manages to go straight to fundamental truths, but through a door you never knew existed, let alone figured out how to open.
