• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

For any writers living in London, there is a short story competition from 'Spread the Word': London Short Story Prize 2017 open for entries - Spread The Word

(Sadly, it’s not open to writers who live outside of London.)

I like what one the judges, Joe Dunthorne, says he wants:
“I’m not looking for much from these stories, just that they be exquisitely written in an unforgettable voice with characters who feel alive – more alive! – than my closest friends and family. Only that these stories change my life forever in unguessable ways. Only that every sentence should come back to me in dreams.”

(...okay, that all? :D)
