• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

I couldn't possibly listen to anything while writing - I need total focus.
I'm exactly the same. The only time I'll listen to music is if I'm trying to evoke a particular mood, in which case I'll free-write and then try to capture the emotion in words that go with my story.

Nevertheless, I'm enjoying seeing what others like to listen to.

Hi all, someone (I think @Mel L ) suggested a thread for sharing our favorite writing playlists. Here's mine :)

Nordic-style (also some Slavic) music:

I can't listen to music whilst I am writing, but I have different playlists (depending on my WIP) for inspiration to get me in the mood to write - 'The Resistance' by Muse, Barcelona by Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe, anything by Karl Jenkins, and occasionally a bit of Mika!

Another of my favorite songwriter/singers.

And here is my favorite song of hers. It touches themes many of us write about. I will stop talking and let Litopians listen.
