I have just found about these awards and thought I would let everyone know here about it.

To be eligible you must live in the frozen wasteland otherwise know as Northern England. New Writing North state on the awards website -

'Writers applying for the awards must currently live full-time in the North of England. The North of England is defined as the areas covered by Arts Council England in Yorkshire, North East and North West. We regret we are unable to accept submissions from outside these areas due to conditions in our funding from Arts Council England.'

It is actually made up of a range of awards which you can go through on their website. Each award has it's own criteria. Entry must be made by 11:59pm on 2nd February 2017.
