Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.
This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.
Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…
We now allow political discussion, but strongly suggest it takes place in the Steam Room, which is a private sub-forum within Café Life. It’s only accessible to Full Members.

Farts? The 2 meter social distancing distance just isn't quite enough.

The scary thing, apart from the silver, the rabbit foot, and the hornet repellent, I could grab all that in an instant. But only as long as wine counts as holy water.
Whisky is actually called holy water: uisce beathaThe scary thing, apart from the silver, the rabbit foot, and the hornet repellent, I could grab all that in an instant. But only as long as wine counts as holy water.
I was actually noting that my list of things to bring was smaller. Now that I don't expect to be out and about for ten hours, there are far fewer things that I need to have on my person at all times.
Seriously--the mask has become the new fashion accessory! I've made myself this zany buggy one, and for my husband I made a fabulous mushroom one (he's a soil microbiologist who specialises in fungi). Not so much amusing, more thought-provoking and even educational, some mask makers are using famous paintings and literary quotes to adorn their products.
