• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

How did I not know about Litopia before? I spent two years living in Shanghai, moping about not having a community of writers to learn from and grow with, and the Litopia was there the whole time, sitting on the internet, just waiting for me to use the google. Better late than never, I guess!

My name is Jess, and I'm an unpublished Australian author living in Paris. My WIP is my first novel, a literary thriller about a woman who decides to face up to a very bad thing she did a long time ago. When I need to take a break from that I write short stories and read. I'm exited to getting involved in this community by reading your work and learning from you all!

Hey there! I live in France too. I'm down south though, near Montpellier. First novel out on submission and fingers crossed. Welcome to Litopia! I only joined a few months ago, but since then I've noticed a marked improvement in my writing and in my confidence. Due equally to @AgentPete's comments on the Pop-up sessions, and to the support and input from all the other writers here. I hope you find Litopia as friendly, supportive and INFORMATIVE as I have.
