Just been pondering which kidney I can sell off
I'll be having an organ removed in a month. Shall I ask the anaestesist when he puts a needle in, 'How much will you give me fer that'?

Alas, he might assume I'm arguing about the meds...

I just tried to find a gif of a joke on fire, but ... nothing vaguely presentable. There was a clown ....

For the London Litfest (!), we've provisionally booked The Street Easy in Exmouth Market, London for the 22nd of April 2023. I've been speaking with Ruby there, and she sent the details below:

While our menu may change between now and then, we try to cater to all groups and have some lovely vegan, veggie and pescatarian dishes, with lots more to come.
You can find our current menu at www.thestreeteasy.com
We’re pretty good for gluten free as well, we basically have a ’something for everyone’ policy, so should have dishes for everyone but feel free to pass on my email if anyone has any concerns.

I’ll include a link at the bottom for a virtual ‘walk-through’ of the site, we’ve changed the layout since then but it’s still pretty similar, and you can get an idea for the space. We have mingling areas and proper table seating so can cater for all sorts!

Walk-through: Google Maps

It looks quite perfect, we can move around and mingle and eat to our heart's content :)

(@Izuku Midoriya and @RK Capps , @Barbara and I are having a dire case of FOMO at the thoughts of a Sydney Litfest. Just been pondering which child/kidney/car I can sell off :D )
And there's a bus from London Kings Cross to Exmouth Market (I see on google). That would save getting lost in London.

Thank you for doing the sensible thing and figuring out the hows and wheres of getting around (before the morning of Litfest itself) :)
I don't so much like getting lost, as having zero choice in it... My appalling lack of directional sense has brought me off on many circuitous routes over the years :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:

I was once giving home tutoring to a boy. Got lost in their big house trying to find my way back from the bathroom!

London's just an hour away if you don't count the 6h spent at Dublin Airport. I've been wanting to see London again. It seems the expense thing has been dealt with, but wondering if other venues have ever been considered? Some place outside of London with cheaper rates accessible by public transport? Just wondering. We'll probably look for space somewhere around good old Leighton Buzzard.

Well, we've been talking about all these permutations and combinations since 2019!! London is easiest to get to, it's a good central hub, although, yes, expensive. But public transport is excellent. We'll DO this, and then can decide how and where we want to proceed for 2024 ;)

And there's nothing stopping anyone from having Litfest offshoots! I HAVE been thinking of an Irish one... And if soneone was up for planning a Scottish one, I'd be there in a flash!!! :)

Moderation being my middle name :relieved-face:

And now I've started thinking about a ScotLitfest, I think it needs to be done. Frankly, I'm just looking for an excuse to go back to Scotland, and this would be an excellent one ;)
