I used to live in Samlesbury. On a nice day we'll drive over to Pendle. The hill behind the Uni my daughter is in Lancaster at was Gallow's Hill. Terribly sad history, desperately poor people for the most part, and that little monster James 1 of England, sixth of Scotland had a significant part to play. On a lighter note, you'll see some pretty scenery, which it really is.
