• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

We now allow political discussion, but strongly suggest it takes place in the Steam Room, which is a private sub-forum within Café Life. It’s only accessible to Full Members.

Trends in MG and YA at Bologna

Middle Grade, and YA is Young Adult. MG is a US term that broadly equates to the 9-12 age group in UK speak. :-)

Came across this article in Publishers Weekly - Agents and Scouts discussing the trends they are observing at this years Bologna Children's Book fair.

Should be of interest to those of you writing YA ans MG but of course, remember that next year the picture could be very different.

I would be interested to know if @AgentPete has a view on all this?

Those "trends" only reflect buying/selling amongst publishing folk. In other words, hopes or guesses. They may be right, they may be wrong - the market will decide.
