• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

Thank you, @Eva Ulian, for the wonderful floral designs we now have on our main page as backgrounds to the various forums here. They look swell!

I’m keen to change our background images quite frequently, certainly with the seasons, so if there are any budding Litopian artists out there, don’t hesitate to send me your designs!

Yes, they've really perked the place up @Eva Ulian. Very seasonal and perfect for our current spell of glorious weather here in the UK.

Flowers fight for the attention of bees and birds so they can pass on their seeds and help in the survival of the species. It's all about survival and nature is good at that. Would be even better if we humans stayed out of things a bit more!

Hum, I wonder if without the help of humans flowers would flourish so well. I remember in the story of "The Little Prince" he took great pains to care and nurture his rose, put her under a glass for protection, gave her water so it wouldn't thirst. Perhaps without mankind the world would still be in a wild big mess as it was during the pre-historic age. :)

Without mankind, there would certainly be more life forms about, both animal and plant forms. We are different in that we fight nature whereas other lifeforms are nature. Our attempt to dominate is causing all sorts of problems in the world but I do believe we will eventually come to our senses and hopefully, it won't be too late.
