• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

Every single person you interact with -- in real life or online -- is a potential saint, angel, Buddha, or Christ.

Your job is to help that person get there.

If your actions or words don't help him reach that state, refrain from them.

I don't know of anyone on this board who breaks this rule -- but I dealt with a few people elsewhere today who do.

More things to think about (insert whatever beliefs you have):

When someone is awful to you, remember that that's his karma, and that's for him and Spirit to work out.

You cannot let it weigh your heart down, or you will never take wing.

Yet more.

Just because someone calls you a cow, doesn't make you a cow. Words strung together and hurled at another person do not a fact make -- but they will definitely hurt feelings.

My personal favorite (I'll bleep it so it's not so earthy, but it would lose much if I rephrased it):

Opinions are like a--holes. Everybody has one.
