It's not that it's not cheerful then; so much as it is defo literary :)

Saw Cloud Atlas for the first time the other night, on Amazon.

Doomed freedom, slavery as the price of profiting from a raw commodity, interrupted love, repeating through history.

What a very odd film, veering between dystopian horror and spoof.

Haven't seen the film; but I liked the book.
