• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

Actually this is just an excerpt from my novel, 'Merlin and Ceridwen'. The scene is near Cardigan in Wales when Ceridwen 'bumps' into Catherine of Aragon, and explains to the Queen that she is a story-teller. >>

'Is not the waters a place of birth
where the mind may ferment and troubles be drowned
Can you see that the water does froth
as the sand offers no resistance
Can you see nature speaks to us all
if we dare have ears wise enough to listen?

Would you not agree that nature is eloquent
yet free of speech
Can a tree not stand tall and yet bow wisely before the winds
Would not a deer smell the air to avoid its own death
Can you see the child is just as mortal as any leaf,

Is not every woman queen of her own home
Would I walk on sands before you
yet it is not permissible so I do not.
Truly the world is a complicated place
but nothing perchance as complicated as the mind.
Yet it is the simple things that give the most pleasure

When the sun shall rise in the morn
these words shall return to you
On golden pages may be found words of gifted learning
but only in the heart shall gifted words find their true home.'

Thanks muchly (probably Australian slang) ;)

No, it's mostly third person, with just occasional verse. ;)
