It was a flood! I don't know how anyone could keep up with it all. I set hashtag filters for the genres I was most interested in and I suspect agents do much the same. A lot of really dodgy looking publishers liking stuff too.

I agree about the more unusual sounding pitches standing out. A lot of them are very samey and formulaic and don't really say anything about what is unique about the story being pitched. A good lesson I think

But all that writing! All those polished manuscripts! It could make me despair, but actually it's a thing of wonder.
