• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

    • Don't give offence
    • Don't take offence

We now allow political discussion, but strongly suggest it takes place in the Steam Room, which is a private sub-forum within Café Life. It’s only accessible to Full Members.

I’m delighted to tell you that @Hannah F has agreed to become the OPS Moderator. I think most folk here will be familiar with Hannah, but for newcomers let me just say that she’s one of our most liked and respected members, a writing powerhouse and a critique partner of rare and profound ability. If you’re lucky enough to get a crit from Hannah, you’re extremely fortunate.

As will be obvious to those who’ve attended Huddles when Hannah’s also been there, she also has a wicked and devious sense of humour… which might just become evident in the OPS writing prompts in the months ahead!

So – please put your hands together to welcome OPS Moderator Hannah… and let the fun begin!

Fantastic news that @Hannah F is taking control of this unwieldy beast. OPS is a brilliant feature of Litopia - long may it run.

And thanks for my Litbits. I'm saving up for something, but I don't know what. Like a dragon hoarding gold for some unknown reason (that's something I learned about in the Lab recently thanks to @Jake E ).

Big congrats to @Rich. for pipping me at the post. He was the best all along, though, wasn't he?
And to @LJ Beck and @Jodes too. Which were their entries?

Yeah, doesn't work for me. I get nowhere.
"That night," said the freaky psychic doctor as he stole a glance at my wife's empty eyes, "during the storm, when you heard the front door bang, nothing came in, I'm sure, but someone... something"—that glance again—"something did leave."
by @Rich.

She lay awake for a long time with her head on his chest, listening to his heartbeat which said enough, enough, enough.
by yours truly.

"Yeah maybe you're right and I'm not a go-save-the-world kind of person, but fuck it, I'm going anyway."
by @LJ Beck

I have to go: the world is ending.
