The Bridport Prize, famous for 'discovering' Kate Atkinson, and which includes categories for poetry, short story, novel and flash fiction, closes 31 May. This year it includes a Never Too Late Award for writers of 60+ which, it says, 'unlocks the hidden talent of older writers'. It applies across all the entry categories.
Novels do not have to be finished at the start of the competition, with an initial entry of 5,000 to 8,000 words required, though those facing the final judging must be completed by then.
