It's what we suspected and now I firmly believe it. Though the video did not address the big elephant in the room with the 20% agent fee which also doesn't specify on which rights? print? audio? translations etc.?

I remember this guy from some other videos. He is a conservative Christian whose endgame is social engineering. That doesn't mean that his analysis here is off. You just have to be aware that what eh says will always be filtered through an evangelical Christian world view that has trad publishing and everything adjacent as liberal and therefore weak and corrupt. Again that is not necessarily inaccurate, but I suspect we very much disagree on what would be a better system.

@Pamela Jo I've been listening to his novel marketing podcast, fwiw he has some good takes/advice that are relevant for all writers. But he's very much pro self pub.
