I suspect more a name change to go along with the new interface? I seem unable to reply to anything in the old "Mash" anyway, so maybe it has gone mobile, like an army surgical hospital....

"Writing Groups" is v2 of the sytem, hopefully simpler to use and more streamlined. Also gives you much more control over the group itself, e.g. you can choose when to delete it, lock it and unlock it, make it titslly private, etc. All explained here.
