I really like those. Very positive, and not authoritarian as some "tips" from writers tend to be :)
 
I thought being a writer comprised of bashing your head against a metaphorical wall over and over and over and...
 
I love this part: "Listen to what makes your hair stand on end, your heart melt, and your eyes go wide, what stops you in your tracks and makes you want to live... "

Why You Should Aim for 100 Rejections a Year
Yes, I think that's a good philosophy. But the pedantic side of me takes issue with 'plums defy!' being the shortest sentence. First of all, it only ties with 'Jesus wept' [famous for being the shortest sentence in the Bible, I thought], and secondly, surely the shortest possible sentence is 'I am?'
 
Agreed. But I like the point about rejections. In a sense it is true. I got one piece published a while ago; it was rejected twice and each time I worked on it. The final version which found a home was way better than the first one.
 
And if you're being rejected, that means you're writing and trying to publish--that is the only way you're going to get published, so it has to be a good thing. At least, that's what I keep telling myself...
