• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

I love this part: "Listen to what makes your hair stand on end, your heart melt, and your eyes go wide, what stops you in your tracks and makes you want to live... "

Thanks Robinne. And while reading I discovered this.

Why You Should Aim for 100 Rejections a Year
Yes, I think that's a good philosophy. But the pedantic side of me takes issue with 'plums defy!' being the shortest sentence. First of all, it only ties with 'Jesus wept' [famous for being the shortest sentence in the Bible, I thought], and secondly, surely the shortest possible sentence is 'I am?'

Agreed. But I like the point about rejections. In a sense it is true. I got one piece published a while ago; it was rejected twice and each time I worked on it. The final version which found a home was way better than the first one.

And if you're being rejected, that means you're writing and trying to publish--that is the only way you're going to get published, so it has to be a good thing. At least, that's what I keep telling myself...
