• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

Hi all,

I'm delighted to have found Litopia!

I'm working on my 4th novel and trying to find an agent for my 3rd (the first two aren't very good but they were part of my learning journey.)

I also had a baby in July. Luckily she sleeps well so I've been able to get quite a lot of writing done on my maternity leave, but I return to work next week.

I'm a professional fundraiser and write a blog at www.scepticalfundraiser.com - I've been published in trade press and my goal for this year is to be published in a mainstream publication (as well as finishing my 4th novel).

Hi. You look a little like my niece. But she doesn't have a baby.

I just wanted to point out ... eventually they walk...

...and talk.

Not only do we share a name and initial and hair color, but I also wrote a book while my daughter was a baby and slept a lot. Started it a couple of months before she was born, finished just after she turned 1. Somehow that time of utter chaos seems to be a great time for writing! Best of luck in your endeavors!
