• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

We now allow political discussion, but strongly suggest it takes place in the Steam Room, which is a private sub-forum within Café Life. It’s only accessible to Full Members.

Do you write creative non-fiction (also known as personal essays or memoir)?
Entries are now open for the International Voices in Creative Non-Fiction competition at Vine Leaves Press.
They're seeking narrative manuscripts of 50-80k words or collections of vignettes or poetry (or a combination).
Entry fee $25, prize is publication and $1000. Runners up will also be considered for publication.
It's all here, including more about Vine Leaves Press, which has been publishing ferociously, provocatively and proudly for at least 10 years International Voices in CNF
I'm one of the judges! Though entries will be anonymised by the time I get to them so, sadly, bribes are useless. Unless you want to anyway :)
