• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

Yay! I've just had a zoom interview with Charlotte of The Golden Egg Academy. Having read my first 2000 words (of Dangerously Fae) and my synopsis, she thinks I'm a really strong writer and has accepted me onto their one year course for writing Children's and YA! (Starts January). It's a lot of money (£1900) but I can pay monthly (lots of saving and hermit-ing to be done!) The reason I chose to do this course is because I have done workshops with them which have been really good AND, unlike other courses, I will be focussing on my own novel and will have an allocated industry editor to help me. AND Golden Egg are really closely linked to Chicken House Books.
