• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

    • Don't give offence

We now allow political discussion, but strongly suggest it takes place in the Steam Room, which is a private sub-forum within Café Life. It’s only accessible to Full Members.

Buying publicity for your book

All very sound advice throughout that answer, especially the last line,. (Ironic since I've just committed a hundred dollars to Kindle for advertising!) I think I'll put it on a post it note.

Now you know what they offer, why not write a specific Publicity Requirement Specification detailing exactly what you want a company to do for you. OK, you cannot ask them to ensure you sell 10,000 books, but you can specify e.g that they issue 10 varied press releases, arrange 3 interviews (maybe a tough ask), and so on. Then send your spec to four or five publicity companies and see how they respond?
