I shall prevail, but it is things as these that make me question the business of publishing. And his agent seems to be not better herself.

Yes, he's an obnoxious pillock—but that's the point—it's almost his USP.

Any newspaper, radio station, television station, film or television series has a deliberately annoying and controversial character. They're shock jocks, right-wing chat show hosts, Gonzo journalists and filmmakers. There's an award for the most irritating voice in a comedy show...viewers like imitating silly voices, which increases the exposure of the series.

His arrogance and his agent's arrogance are not under your control. You can only control your reaction to their pathetic attempt at "marketing" this book. And screw the money. It won't buy him a better personality. ((HUGS))

Pete, is the old saw, "Any publicity is better than none" still surviving in publishing industry circles these days? I've been reading a lot on the Millennials and their rejection of old-school marketing (hoping to understand them better than from just watching the Great Indoors on CBS), and wondering if contentious authors are still a good way to get exposure? I've read a few of these, and generally I don;t find their writing all that compelling or unique.
