I dread to think how someone who has knocked their guts out, spending maybe a year writing a book, reacts after receiving 1-star reviews like these two prime exhibits.

Can't Amazon police this kind of risible drivel and remove it?

The reviewers might just as well have included details about a particularly unsatisfactory cold coffee at Starbucks and being splashed by a bus driver who drove his bus through a large puddle

A logged-on member can report the reviews as inappropriate, and they will often come down. I don't know if the reviewer gets notified of where to put these comments, but I know where I'd suggest.
