Just came across this article by Adam LG Nevill, horror author - some may be familiar with the film The Ritual from his novel of the same title.
He talks a little bit about the 'writer's inner reader.'

Oh, what does that mean? Did you get chance to read it, Rachel? I could always copy and paste the article :)

It's probably my computer anti-virus on the fritz, it's ok though, I went to tor.com and found it. Loved it, and it explains why writing a publishable book takes time because your inner reader needs time to develop.
