Thanks for this Carol, I often ask the question... Should English authors submit to just UK agents? or is it permissible to submit to American agents?. Also, does the reverse apply. IE, American authors should just submit to American agents?

That really depends on the agents. Some will accept (from a foreign, land) and some won't. In my case I can go anywhere as technically I'm from neither
Subject matter could also make a difference.
