Had not thought of that. Ah well, i´m guessing that if i ever get to sit down with a publisher they will be the ones to "push me in the right direction" so to speak.
Don't forget, your name doesn't necessarily have to appeal to your readership, the kids. It generally is the parent who does the buying, and Clara would work fine. Sounds trustworthy, yet playful.

Remember Heidi? (Good old, safe kid's book) One of the characters was called Clara.
 
Yep! No one does weird like the Japanese. I'm in awe of them. I have a book on designing clothing with knit fabrics, by some Japanese designer, and it is truly bizarre! Brilliant, but I couldn't even begin to imagine actually wearing a single thing in the book!

and so, banana seems to fit right in!
