• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

Hello everyone, happy writing.

I just wanted to stop by and leave some links here, if I may. These are some tools I´ve been using that have helped me immensely with my editing process. I´ve downloaded the free versions onto my computer and they´ve been very, very helpful. One is a grammar checker and the other is a text to voice program that reads your texts to you. Both are great for catching all sorts of mistakes, but I especially love the text to voice because it helps me with the rhythm and the flow of my words. Hope it helps you too.

Oh, and I also visit this web site on a daily basis: synonyms and antonyms of words
Enjoy!

Thank you. I just downloaded the text to speech program. It's so much easier to find bad prose when you hear it spoken vs. read what you've written.

I've tried it briefly so far, but it reads text that is not speech, still trying to figure out how to stop that ;)
