Why have these quotes taken a sexist turn, recently? Genuine question - it doesn't seem to fit well with the modern age?

The gentleman is in the business of sweeping generalisations.
(I like to think that in the next frame he might have set fire to his whiskers and been forced to drop his eyeglass.)

Quoting someone on a website without an accompanying comment suggests approval, or at least, not disapproval, of the quote. It makes me feel uncomfortable and I don't think it's a good image for Litopia.

Women are not superior to men. If there was a quote posted that claimed men are superior, there would be an outcry.

Women are remembered for making men laugh and men can also cry just as much as women. To claim otherwise is dodgy. Young guys these days are encouraged to express their feelings in a way that they weren't when I was growing up, and that can only be a good thing.
