• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

We now allow political discussion, but strongly suggest it takes place in the Steam Room, which is a private sub-forum within Café Life. It’s only accessible to Full Members.

Hi! Not sure if this is the right place for this so let me know if inappropriate. I currently volunteer at a lit mag, The Selkie, which aims to champion underrepresented writers. We are currently running a series of virtual edit-along writers workshops which are open to all. You can submit work and each week two pieces will be discussed by the facilitator (an editor) and the group. Weather your piece is featured or not, it's a great way to critically engage with writing and raise money for a great cause. The link is: The Selkie Virtual Writers' Group if you are interested. :)
