• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

    • Don't give offence

We now allow political discussion, but strongly suggest it takes place in the Steam Room, which is a private sub-forum within Café Life. It’s only accessible to Full Members.

Hi, I'm Phillip. I am a comedy writer, voice artist, sci-fi author, poet, Lego artist, some other stuff. I was on Lego Masters and I see comedy, lego, and sci-fi to all be parts of the same branch of creativity, or at least close together.
My friend L.A. Thomas brought me here, suggesting I could narrate some things over on Youtube. I've done a bit of it before, doing a radio slot for Toula Mavridou a few months back, and some voice acting.

My writing often explores existential themes with a dark and zany comedic edge. By far my most popular story at the moment is TARDIGRADE, which is linked below.
Looking to connect with other voice people and anyone who needs a narrator!
Here's an example of my reading Tardigrade (a first take) TARDIGRADE - Audiobook version

Is anyone else an aspiring narrator here? I don't know many!

Welcome. Even though you are from Earth (not sure where some others here are from), it seems like you adopted a friend form another planet?

A friend of lovely Lisa is always welcome, so Hi Phillip. I know a master Lego builder who works from their main site, and designs things like the Lego Porsche, etc. He says he has the best job in the world, and I’d probably agree. Glad to see another enthusiast out there. Welcome to the colony. X VH

Welcome Philip! I loved your short story and voice. Your ad-lib narration made me chuckle. I’m not sure what it takes to put yourself forward as a reader for Pop Ups, or if it’s possible to join the readers list but I’m sure someone can let you know. Maybe @Jonny? I suspect you already know, being a time traveller. Can you let me know when my debut will be published? Thanks

Hi @RealPhillipCarter

Welcome to the Colony. I hope you enjoy it here and we’re always looking for readers,

I’m tagging @Emily as she heads up the group of readers and I’m sure she’ll be in touch once she see this.

If you need any further help in navigating around the site just drop me a message and I’ll be happy to help if I can.

This is a good place to check out (How-to guide) to see a lot of what goes on.

Cheers
