• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

Hi there,
I’m an aspiring freelance editor (working at a publishing house is my dream), who also writes creatively from time to time. Let me know what you’re working on. I’d love to give people quality (and, here, free) feedback on their poems, shorts, chapters, novellas, and novels!
Hope to hear back from you all.

Welcome aboard @EditingGuy :) What are you writing? I write YA fantasy. Cool aspiration, good luck with it :)
I’m currently writing poems and thinking of testing out a novella again. My last three novellas weren’t as great as I’d hoped but a much needed break might have helped me.
Ah here you are, welcome (again), hope you enjoy it here, and your skillset sounds v v attractive, lol.
Up for beta-reading in the near future?
Enjoy your time here.
Xx VH
Thanks! Yes I wanted to beta read straight away but some personal reading got in the way tonight. Maybe I’ll have a look tomorrow or even sooner if you guys have any chapters up.

Welcome to the Colony :) I'm sure you'll get plenty of feedback practice!!
Thanks! I hope so.

Hi @EditingGuy

A warm welcome to Litopia and hope you enjoy the colony.

You’ve come to the right place. We’re all about writing here and getting / giving critiques on your work and those of others is one of the main things that Litopia does. You'll find the relevant forum here. Workshops So don't be shy and feel free to dive straight in.

Anything you're not sure about on the site just drop me a line and I'll be happy to help.

This link might come in handy to help you navigate your way around the colony. How-to Guide

Welcome Ed Guy! I'm working on a gritty, LGBTQ+ crime thriller. Hope to have a few chapters ready to share soon.
