• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

We now allow political discussion, but strongly suggest it takes place in the Steam Room, which is a private sub-forum within Café Life. It’s only accessible to Full Members.

I seem to have 2 reviewer credits all of a sudden. Does anybody know what they mean? Can I spend them on beer?

I did a couple of reviews but that was some weeks ago. Maybe the credits were just a long time in coming. :)

I'm scared—my reviewer credits are creeping up too—mysteriously, another point appeared this morning.

I hope that we all differentiate between being a reviewer and being a critic, for as Christopher Hampton observed:

Asking a working writer what he thinks about critics is like asking a lamp-post how it feels about dogs.

Dey work in mysterious ways.

Peter says we are not, not, not to be critics or editors, or he might have to go postal.

We are to be READERS only.

My tally has also crept up but oddly, I have now lost 5 points...

(What were the points for?)
