• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

Trawling thru the 2 for one Audible sale I realised my decision usually comes down to the reader comments.

"Fizzled Out", made me reject one I looked at. I hate it when horror does that. If you've built my expectations thru suspense I want a real bang up denouement.

"Never falters" made me listen to the preview. It wasn't a terribly hooky start, not enough cookies-but that comment was enough for me to not eliminate it.

So thinking about books I've finished I asked myself what would readers/listeners comment. it's a good thing to think about as I rewrite. The idea of someone thinking the story fizzled out horrifies me.

What comments do yu leave to say-this is a good one? Or not worth the time and money? What would you like your reader to say to sum up your book?

The Audible comment I see that stops me cold even if it's a book I know I want is "Amateurish reading." Or "Read by author."
