Well ... I've just returned from my Mexican vacation and I'm sitting on a stack of proposal follow ups. Do I send them now or wait until after the big holidays?

Makes sense, but I'd even be inclined to wait another week or two after that. Won't everyone be submitting things on the second Tuesday? Give them a chance to catch up, then yours will be top of a smaller pile.
