Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.
This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.
Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…
We now allow political discussion, but strongly suggest it takes place in the Steam Room, which is a private sub-forum within Café Life. It’s only accessible to Full Members.

Can I just float on my back and kick my feet for the swim? Then yes.The granddaddy of them all; the Ironman in October here on Big Island. Are you ready?
My last marathon was much easier on me and I only ran 5 miles a day with two 12 mile runs and one 16 mile run beforehand. So I was in shape but not injured in any way. And I was fully prepared for the distance, so it never felt like too much. Trying to repeat that success somewhat this time.I've only done half marathons. I find training for any further boring (no offence. Good on you for going the distance). To tell you the truth, I only did the half marathons to keep myself stamina fit while my arm recovered from elbow dislocation.
People did line the streets to cheer us on, but it was only water they were handing out and not the holy water (uisce beatha) kind.
