Interesting website for authors (maybe)

Just noticed some rather dodgy English in the website that doesn't inspire much confidence.

I'm not sure what to make of it at a first glance. The small presses or publishers that most interest me are those where I buy their books, like their cover choices and find their publications well-edited and produced. There are some excellent publishers around, even if they're battling financially.

A few concerns/questions...

1. I don't see anything about a submissions process or editing. It's difficult to tell, but I think they are simply one more place to upload a book for sale, like Amazon, Smashwords, etc.

2. The flow chart showing the "royalties" is a bit confusing. Well, more than a bit, actually.

3. They're brand new. And there are already plenty of third party vendors where authors can upload their book for sale without paying the platform one red cent in royalties.

I'd wait a bit and see what develops with them before sending them a book. After all, literally anyone can upload a book to Amazon, Smashwords, Barnes & Noble, iBooks, or Kobo, and it will be for sale within hours. You can also offer it in print through a few of those vendors. AND, you keep all your profits. If that's all Authorship is offering, they'd have to do something really unique for the author before I'd hand them part of my profits.

Either that or I'm missing something.

I agree. And this strange business of being paid in tokens... I'm certainly not going to rush into anything with them.

I really don't understand the token thing AT ALL.

A few other things I noticed when taking a second look convinced me this is nothing more than a vanity publisher trying to disguise itself as a new kind of one-stop-shopping platform. My advice to you and others: RUN AWAY.
