• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

    • Don't give offence
    • Don't take offence

We now allow political discussion, but strongly suggest it takes place in the Steam Room, which is a private sub-forum within Café Life. It’s only accessible to Full Members.

"In the end we only regret the chances we didn't take, the relationships we were afraid to have, and the decisions we waited too long to make."

Lewis Carroll

Because the chances we took that didn't work out were full of hope at the time. If we hadn't taken the chance, we'd never have experienced the hope.

(Of course, if you're a gambler who gambled away everything, you may regret the chances you took. If you have to lie and steal and sell yourself in order to pay for the drug, you may well regret that first hit.)
