• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

Hello Litopians!

I hope that everyone had a very Merry Christmas, a happy Holiday Season, and that 2025 will outperform all the dreadful (and merited) predictions to become your best year EVER!

After the US elections last November, I went into a tailspin nosedive of angst and woe the likes of which I have rarely experienced. Obviously the results of said race were NOT what I had hoped for. One of the many things that I did to cope was to author an extremely lengthy and emotional-charged (not to mention a skosh insane) journal-style post here in Fanfare.

Thinking that the composition of this offering would generate some interesting "cross-pond" discussion, I was taken aback by the fact that after almost TWO months, there was ZERO response at all! Not having any concrete info as to why this would be, I am going to opt for the most positive theory: the post was so buried in the vast forest of Litopian post-options that nobody saw it. If that indeed was the case, it was probably for the best.

As I couldn't figure out how to delete the entire original post, I chose instead to just rewrite it...the results of which you see here.

I therefore wish all of you the best and leave you with the wonderful words of Carl Sagan's "Pale Blue Dot" that I set to the music of Vince Mendoza's marvelous orchestrations on the Yellowjackets song "Greenhouse."

Enjoy!

Cheers!:clinking-beer-mugs:
