• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

    • Don't give offence
    • Don't take offence

We now allow political discussion, but strongly suggest it takes place in the Steam Room, which is a private sub-forum within Café Life. It’s only accessible to Full Members.

I have tons of regrets, but I think that's one of the reasons that push people to create things. Out of their angst, their regret, comes the best from artists, painters and writers.

I wouldn't regret making a porn film called the Italian Stallion which got me a shot at non porn movies and fame and fortune. So interesting to conjecture just what regrets there might be....
Hubby and I went to some disused Army barracks outside Bath, that were now overgrown and covered in graffiti. My son wanted to do some photography there for a college art project, so we let him loose on the place, and we just mooched around.
We passed a group of young people with film equipment, and some girls dressed in tutus. We got a photo with them and thought nothing more of it.
When we met up with our son (15) later, he asked if we'd bumped into those people who were making a porno movie here?
He said they asked him if he'd like to be part of it.
My mum hackles went straight up. How fucking dare they?
His dad, however, looked genuinely perplexed and muttered, "I wonder why they didn't ask me?"

Having seen Steve's moustache, one wonders indeed.
